1831 Proof Half Sovereign

A delightful example of this early proof gold coin. With the larger proof gold coins performing so well in recent years, proof half sovereigns look relatively cheap by comparison and represent good value, in our view. The coin photographed above is the equal-second finest graded by PCGS (8/22), and is one of the nicest 1831 half sovereigns we’ve handled in recent years.
