1956 Proof Shilling

Proof shillings in ultra-high grade do turn up from time-to-time, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen a high-grade 1956 proof shilling on the market. The coin photographed above is certainly worthy of the grade, with a totally blast white appearance, full lustre, and great eye appeal. The surfaces are totally unimpaired. Mintage of only 1,500, with only ten examples graded PR67 with PCGS and none finer (January 2014).
