1957 Perth Proof Penny with brilliant finish

Whilst the 1955 and 1956 Perth proof pennies are widely recognised for their rarity, the 1957 proof penny with a brilliant finish remains largely overlooked. Despite all three coins having mintages in the low hundreds, the 1957 currently sells for barely a third of the price of its 1955 and 1956 counterparts. That gap won’t last. As collectors become aware of its scarcity, especially now that PCGS distinguishes it from the common matte issue, the coin’s true value is poised for a reappraisal.
