1957 Perth Proof Penny

A rare commercial proof that is starting to get the recognition that it deserves. Minted in 1957, the brilliant version of the proof 1957 penny is now officially recognised by PCGS, and with a mintage of just 470 coins, it is comparable to the 1955 and 1956 proof Perth pennies yet half the price. (This coin should not be confused with the 1957 matte proof penny, which was struck in 1959, has a different appearance, and is more common.)
