Australia, 1938 Proof Shilling - Grades PCGS PR64.
While all proof coins are popular with collectors, the proofs of 1938 have been especially so. The official mintage was 100 coins per denomination, but the issue was unpopular at the time and only the threepence sold out. Of the shilling, 94 were sold; the remainder were destroyed. The present coin, photographed above, is one of the better examples to hit the market in recent years, and would make an ideal addition to a pre-decimal proof coin collection or type set.
