1864 Sydney Mint Sovereign

A wholly-original coin with matte fields, a well-struck wreath and hairline, and lovely colour on both ‘verses. It is really something to see in hand. And if you’re a mint error collector, there are hints of die clash on the reverse to the left and right of the crown. From an old Sydney collection, and one of the nicest Sydney Mint sovereigns I’ve handled. Single-finest graded by PCGS (8/20) and RARE in this grade.
