1856 Sydney Mint Sovereign

The 1856 Sydney Mint Sovereign is very scarce in any grade, but particularly rare in PCGS AU55. This particular example has residual bloom in devices, great eye appeal, and strong hairlines, and is one of the nicest 1856 Sydney Mints I’ve seen in a long time. Equal finest graded by PCGS (January 2013), and far more scarce than the 1855 Sydney Mint in equivalent grade. From the collection of John Wilson, dispersed in 2008.
