1892 Melbourne Sovereign

Although the 1892M sovereign is not an uncommon date, it is—like all Jubilee head sovereigns—rare in high grade. The example photographed above is the finest example I have handled since 2007 and the equal-finest graded by PCGS (1/20). It came out of an old North Sydney accumulation, where it was one of the collector’s prized coins.
