1858 Peace and Plenty Penny

Something a bit different to what we usually stock, this 1858 colonial token was minted in Birmingham by the same firm that later minted Australian silver coins during World War I. Tokens such as these were issued to help meet local demand for currency during the early days of Australian settlement.
