1944 Melbourne Halfpenny

The 1944 halfpenny is one of the harder dates of the George VI halfpenny series, and one of the few dates to have a mintage of less than a million. The coin photographed above is a superior example of this scarce date, and actually has a bit of colour too. Scarce this nice, with only a handful graded finer by PCGS.
